THE CHALLENGE

To create a website showcasing anthropologist William Crocker's decades of research on the Canela Indians of Northeastern Central Brazil. The anthropologist had a wealth of images, video clips, two books and various articles he wished to place on the web to educate an audience comprised of both generalists and specialists.

THE SOLUTION

Authentic, colorful images were selected to represent each of ten categories and placed on the home page as rollovers on a mat background. Close to one hundred thumbnail images were created and linked to larger photographs to accompany educational text. SilverWeb worked closely with Smithsonian staff to place the entire texts of two books and associated tables, maps and figures on the web using both PDF files and HTML pages.
